I have a whole lot more to tell about the summer that was and I'm really hoping that I would be able to blog them all. \u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\nOur first family adventure for the summer was a Visita Iglesia of Laguna churches. I've been to \u003Ca href=\"http:\/\/www.mytravelogue.net\/2010\/07\/on-roadtrip.html\"\u003EIlocos\u003C\/a\u003E, Batangas, \u003Ca href=\"http:\/\/www.mytravelogue.net\/2010\/07\/cebu-once-again.html\"\u003ECebu\u003C\/a\u003E and other old Spanish towns and provinces but nothing beats Laguna when it comes to its abundance of historical churches. I've always been fascinated by churches so this trip is both cultural and religious. The goal of the travel was to visit 7 churches which includes a trip to the popular \u003Cspan style=\"font-style: italic;\"\u003EKamay Ni Hesus\u003C\/span\u003E religious grounds in Lucban, Quezon. We had two Stations of the Cross for each visit to complete the 14 stations.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cspan style=\"font-weight: bold;\"\u003EOUR LADY OF THE HOLY ROSARY CHURCH\u003C\/span\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\nOur first stop was the \u003Ca href=\"http:\/\/foursquare.com\/venue\/1958833\"\u003EOur Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish\u003C\/a\u003E at Luisiana, Laguna. It's a very simple church but is very popular among Visita Iglesia goers. There's also a quaint garden at the side of the church that is worth visiting and is good for photo ops. The weather in Luisiana is also nice and cool (because of its high elevation) so we stayed there quite a bit while catching up with our Priest-friend, Fr. Egay, who's now the Parish Head of Luisiana.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\nFrom Luisiana, we traversed south through the picturesque Sierra Madre mountains to reach Lucban, Quezon, home of the popular \u003Ca href=\"http:\/\/www.pahiyasfestival.com\/\"\u003EPahiyas Festival\u003C\/a\u003E honoring San Isidro Labrador. We went to Lucban to visit \u003Ca href=\"http:\/\/foursquare.com\/venue\/1799205\"\u003EKamay Ni Hesus\u003C\/a\u003E, a religious site popular for its healing church and the 50-feet image of Jesus Christ. This was also our 2nd church in our Visita Iglesia journey. I've been to Buddy's so many times in their Kalayaan, Makati branch for team lunches and treats, but it's my family's first time to eat there. Buddy's offers authentic (not to mention cholesterol-heavy) Lucban specialties. My brother and dad loved the food and my mom loved that it's inexpensive. The famous image of San Isidro Labrador - where Lucban is famous for - is enshrined here. This church has probably one of the most gorgeous baroque architectures I've ever seen. The only letdown is the interiors which was already renovated to modern structures. The event, on its 4th offering, was a gathering of the foodie community and up-and-coming food suppliers and their 'winning' dishes. \u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\nThere were more than 50 food suppliers who gave portions and samples to the hundreds of foodies who attended. The foodies in return served as amateur \"food critiques\" for the night and rated the dishes. Food suppliers who will get high ratings will be featured in \u003Ca href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/antondiaz\"\u003EAnton's\u003C\/a\u003E Our Awesome Planet blog. \u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\nThe event started at 7:00 pm and it ended 10:00 pm. Though we were prompt, the registration lines at NBC Tent were already long when we arrived. We only paid P200 ($4.43) each and we were able to taste and experience more than 20 different food choices and variants. It was truly a money well spent. I went to the unconventional route and got myself an 'old news' MacBook Pro instead. :) I've been dreaming of this baby since late last year and I'm very happy that I finally got one. I really don't care that much if there will be a new Core i7 Mac announcements \u003Cstrike\u003Etwo months from now\u003C\/strike\u003E. I'm not a super heavy user and is quite contented with the current MBP specs that I got. [Update: The new MacBook Pro specs were announced last April 14. I'm not that regretful but it would really be cool to have that 4GB RAM and 250 HDD. Oh well.]\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\nI never expected that I will ever get a Mac. I've always been a PC Girl and prefers those big desktop computers rather than notebooks. It was probably \u003Ca href=\"http:\/\/abbieunreal.blogspot.com\/2008\/10\/awarding-ooozing-prizes.html\"\u003Eowning an iPhone\u003C\/a\u003E which prompted me to desire for a Mac. Exposing myself to the easy and user-friendly Mac OS made me fall in love with Apple products. However, even if I now like Macs, it would still probably take eons before I become a certified MacFanboy. I still enjoy doing things with my PC and I still don't want to convert and migrate all my \"business \u0026 work\" stuff to my Mac.
