I love bang-for-your-buck shopping. I fulfilled my two budget shopping wishes last night and I am so happy about it! Wasteland Wonderland, indeed!

UNIVERSAL RECORDS CD SALE
Our operations in Quezon City are just floors away from the Universal Records HQ. I noticed a few months ago some Big CD Weekend Sale announcement of Universal. I got curious because it says that they sell Buy One, Take Ones and some CDs are even 90% off. What a steal!

Fortunately, I had a meeting yesterday with some of our Call Center leads and it coincided with one these famous CD Sales. I made sure that all my meetings and commitments are done by 6:30pm so I can browse and buy to my heart's desire. The sale usually starts at 9:00 am and ends at 7:00 pm.



I was able to buy two Jazz compilations, one Hale album, and an OPM love song compilation (Yeah, I am all for cheesiness) for only P200! That's basically P50 per CD. The cheapest they have there are the P2 casette tapes and the P40 Country Music CDs. They also have P100 or P200 Buy One, Take One CDs. It's really a joy to go there if you're a music lover or collector.

SAIZEN (DAISO) JAPANESE STORE
I've been hearing and reading about the Saizen Store at Robinson's Galleria in the last couple of months. Saizen is a Japanese Discount Shop brought by the original Daiso All For 100 Yen Shop of Japan. It's a dry goods shop where you can buy everything for P85! The one you see all over the malls - Japan Home Depot or something - is a fake one. THIS is the real deal.

I am a sucker for stores like this. I love the thrill of buying seemingly unnecessary things at a budget price. The stuff in the store are all made in Japan (obviously) and are usually specially made for the Daiso/Saizen stores. They have everything from Housewares, Cosmetics to Office Supplies.



I love the row of plastic containers and the Japanese bowls and plates are just perfect for my brother & sis-in-law who loves Japanses cooking. I initially bought them a rolling container to perfect their maki-making.



My favorite sections: Office Supplies & Notebooks! I was able to buy two File Folders (I love filing!) and will come back for the Colored Staple Wires and the Cushion Notepads.



They also have all kinds of CD/DVD racks and cases; and there was also a row for all types of laptop sleeves. I was able to buy a small blue one for our HP Mini Note.



I love the Saizen shop and I can't wait to go back. This is going to be an ideal Christmas Shopping store. There's truly something for everyone!

I am so big on memories, celebrating life's journeys and how I preserve and keep them. I have this blog which have been a solid witness of my ups, downs and dramas for the last four and a half years, and I also have my Multiply where I usually connect and interact with friends and buddies.

Then came my Project 365 in Flickr.

I was introduced to the exciting Project 365 when I was browsing blogs a couple of months ago. Project 365 is a once-a-day photo blogging where you take random pictures each day which you will post in your blog or photo sharing sites like Flickr or Picasa. I chose Flickr because of it's dynamic picture resolution output, its steady interface and the cool people who are on it.

I am now on Day 56 and so far I am doing good. There were actually days when I don't have entries but that doesn't me for dropping the project altogether. Here are some of my favorite pictures and entries:






I was encouraged to do this project when I read a blog post that explains that "doing it will make you see your life in a whole new way". Talk about seeing your life flash before your eyes. I suggest that you also read it and start your own Project 365 as well! :)

I got a tag from Marj to make a post on 10 Random Things About Me. Unfortunately, I've already wrote about that one recently so I just decided to post a random thing about me that might surprise most of you.

I Googled my name earlier and found some "incriminating evidence" about me that might cost me my fantabulous job at TEH ONE. Is it a sex scandal video? Nah, too Paris Hilton. Is it a blog entry where I posted some juicy corporate news? Nope, too geeky for me. Think again.

It actually involved a contest where I became an accidental winner.

Note that this happened in November 2003 when I was still a staffer at Honda and far, far far away from where I am now. It was a time when I was still learning how to blog amidst my quarter-life crisis. Just want to point out that one in case my bosses read this. :)

Funny, right?

Yep, I won some concert tickets and scored a meet & greet with Mariah from Globe on her Charmbracelet World Tour in 2003. How weird is that? I was actually just an "accidental winner" because I did not intentionally joined the contest. It was really the F4 songs I downloaded (can this post be more cheesy?) which made me a winner via Globe's electronic raffle. Should DTI be warned and involved on the screwed mechanics? Hah!

There's more.

Since I was not really a Mariah fan and not so into concerts, I gave my two (2) Gold tickets to my brother and sis-in-law. They watched and enjoyed the concert while I went to Shangri-La to meet and greet the diva.

I also remembered being interviewed but I cannot remember saying that Mariah's "a true vision of love" like what the article above said. I know myself well and I don't say stuff like that. I was misquoted by Globe for their PR cr*p! They did not even send our lone picture with Mariah like they promised! I only learned about it when it came out in the papers two months after the concert and friends SMSd me. One friend even sent me a scanned copy of the paper which I cannot find as of the moment.

Wow! Its been 18 days since my last entry! Blogging is one of my favorite things to do but I am so busy lately with work and a lot of other things so I wasn't able to post stuff.

So, what I've been up to?

I just got back from Cebu last night for work. I did not enjoy it much since I am under the weather and it made me tired all the time. It was such a bummer. I wasn't able to enjoy the yummy Cebu foodies and delicacies and the touristy sights.

My family and I also did some road trip last weekend at the Laguna Loop. We had a Marian Pilgrimage and we even did some Visita Iglesia. One of the churches we went to was really awesome! Will post about it SOON!

And lastly...some Gabsters and I hosted Gaby's Welcome Back Party at Valle Verde 5 last Saturday. She just came home from a very successful US trip - as usual racing and sponsorship hounding. :) Check our pictures here.

I am still not feeling well and would have slept an hour ago if not for some work mails that needs my reply. AND I am still bummed on Michael Johns elimination at American Idol last Thursday (WTF?). Hmph! Kristy and Syesha are still there and MJ was eliminated? You've got to be kidding me!

Collateral damage is one of my favorite euphemisms of late. What is it anyway (and I am not talking about the Schwarzenegger film of 2002)? Search for it via trusty Wikipedia and you will get: "unintentional damage or incidental damage affecting facilities, equipment or personnel, occurring as a result of military actions directed against targeted enemy forces or facilities. Such damage can occur to friendly, neutral, and even enemy forces". In layman, everyday term, it just means “unintentional or incendental damage from an impact caused by another”. Yep, it’s collateral damage when he broke your heart after he left (he’s really not intending to hurt you, right? right? right?). Yep, it’s collateral damage when he got his own unrequited love to take care of (his hurt is your hurt so therefore it’s collateral damage, right?).

Collateral damage sucks!!! Imagine? You’re minding your own business then *kaboom* you’re suddenly hit??? SO UNFAIR! Yeah, collateral damage definitely sucks!

This is truly one of the longest weekend I've ever had for reasons I don't even know. Well, I have an idea but I just don't want to admit it to myself much more blog about it here. I came home earlier than usual last Friday after spending more than usual time at the office for an almost-weekend. All of my friends have personal plans and I am left alone to entertain myself. I went to the Adidas store at ATC before going home and checked some jackets which I've been admiring since last weekend. It will be perfect for the cool weathers to come. I have yet to decide which one to pick though.

Speaking of cool weathers, I actually love 'em lately. I also love the rain and prefer them over the scorching heat of the sun. There's just something about it that makes my head clearer and my mood better. In fact, one of the best scents I love of late is the smell of fresh rain. :)

I did nothing this weekend but stay at home and watch Desperate Housewives and The OC (with my whole family; we are all addicted to the Orange County residents), cleaned my work e-mail (yeah, how exciting!), worked on some activity report, designed some digital scrapbook, and backed-up my picture files which is already consuming large gigs of memory from my PC. I long to see my friends, have coffee and do our usual chats, but they are all busy with other things and I am not really keen on going out. With this uber long weekend, I can't believe that I am actually dying to go back to work tomorrow.

I'm going for a break next weekend. Marge said that it will be a good idea so I can clear my head and give my weary body a rest. I am kinda excited about the trip since its been a while since I had one. All I want to do is be merry, blog my thoughts, read a book, and just surrender and escape to reality for a while. I am also excited to use my new camera to the trip. I've been carrying around it almost everywhere I go but it's mostly night-out with friends or work-related events. I haven't exactly used it for its very purpose like capturing memorable moments. Or in this case, vacations and travel.

1. Friends told me that one of my strongest suitS is my INNER STRENGTH. They said that I have this knack to face whatever trouble that comes my way. Yep, in a way it's true. BUT let's just say that facing trouble is one thing but actually surviving from it is another.

2. I lost 3 lbs. in the last four days (I believe that most are water though). Half of it was from the food poisoning that we had when we attended a party and the other half was from a diet I am having that ends all diet. :)

3. There are days when I feel that I am looking through an opening of a black hole. I am in the dark, the outside is in the light, and there are shadows all around us. Whew! I can definitely use a vacation to clear my mind!

4. Ms. Nitz, one of my elder officemates, whom I am close with, gave one of the best advices ever: ENJOY!

5. I'm fascinated by my old pictures. Life is uncomplicated in the olden days. Things are light, goals are easier to reach, it takes very small amount of effort to make people happy, and contentment is within reach.

6. This is such a SARCASTIC week here at the office. People kept on biting each other's head, sending SMS with snide remarks, and just plain bitching around.

7. Recent guilty pleasures: Desperate Housewives, The OC and CANS Nail Spa.

8. Superman Returns is one of the best movies of the year! I watched it with Aileen, Tin, Charo and Jako last Friday at ATC.

9. Everyone has a kryptonite. I definitely know mine. What's yours?

10. I went out with some old officemates from Carrier the other day. I had fun. It's nice to drink, unwind, and hang-out with people outside the office. :)

11. I SO love my new hair! Its been three weeks since the rebond and I've been getting lots of compliments from it. I was in a limbo for quite a while - whether to grow it long as usual or curl it. The tried and tested route won.

12. I made some invitation lay-out for a formal event that my officemates found so nice. The font was the IT about it. I am so good at these things. It could have been my wedding invites though. Yeah, bittering. :)
