I am becoming so obsessed with my hair. Really. After the rebond I had last month, I ignored it for a couple of days so it can build some body. For the meantime, I researched about the things I can do to make it more beautiful and to maintain its softness and bounce. There are some treatments like cellophane, which is also a semi-tint, that can preserve its glow and shine. Then there is also the mid-way rebond where you can treat just the hair re-growths near the roots. But what I am looking for is a treatment or maintenance which can aid in the straightening and prevent fly-away and frizz. So, here comes Control Freak.

The Bed Head TIGI Control Freak Shampoo is a revolutionary maintenance anti-frizz hair shampoo from TIGI under its Bed Head line. I learned about it from some of the message boards I go to and it's recommended by hair stylists and experts. I tried it and it really does give a straighter and frizz control look and feel. I wished I discovered it sooner! The fragrance is Pineapple (lovely smell) and it really gives one's hair a soft and gentle feel. I truly and absolutely recommend it especially for chemically-treated hair (relax, rebond, etc). I pair it with my beloved Cream Silk White for an even straighter finish. Control Freak also got conditioner and serum products but I am too loyal to Cream Silk and Citre Shine to make the switch.

The letdown? Well, the price is kindda steep considering that it's an everyday maintenance shampoo. Plus it's not widely distributed and is only sold at professional salons even in the US. I got mine from Studio 546 at Shangri-La Mall but I heard that it's also available at Basement Salon (Powerplant Rockwell; Shangri-La Mall) and at the chic First Aid drugstore at Greenbelt. I googled the price in the US and some on-line stores are selling it a whole lot less than the price here. So, I sent an SOS IM to Mitzi! :)

It's definitely Goodbye, Fly-aways!

I am blogging at the salon. Can you believe it? I am the only one I know who actually brought laptop to a place of beauty, relaxation and pampering. I am having my hair rebonded and the whole treatment and procedure is five friggin' long hours. I've always been a multi-tasker and I know that I will be bored out of my wits if I will just read the fashion and beauty magazines that are scattered all around the salon. Since I will finish at 9:00 pm I decided to do my work budget assignment which is due tomorrow. I am actually dreading it but I have no choice since the review is coming soon and I know that I will all be sleepy and tired by the time I get home.

I am so so OC about my hair. I am not really a kikay vain girl but there are two "unforgivable" things for me: unruly wavy hair and unwanted facial hairs. My hair have not always been good and I often have the "windblown" look even without the wind. I had it short for most of my life. It's very wavy and growing it beyond the shoulders will surely bring in fly-aways and semi-curls. Then came the breakthrough of hair relax and hair rebonding. I succumbed to it, of course. I first had it in early 2001 and I had my hair grown since. I usually have my hair straightened, relaxed or rebonded at least once a year. I've been toying the idea of getting a Digiperm (big curls at the ends) for quite some time but chickened out the last minute. Classic LONG straight hair is still the way to go no matter what the beauty magazines, the trend or your man says. I know I am biased but that's just it. Trust me. I have proof and evidences. :)

NOW TIME. TWO WEEKS AFTER.

I so so so love my new hair! In my 5 years of hair treatment and pampering, I must admit that there were also a few misses but THIS current one (fortunately) is not one of them. I've tried so many salons and parlors and where I had my last one is truly one of the best. I had my first rebond with them last year and the repeat two weeks ago (see above paragraph). I am truly a very satisfied customer! It's been two weeks since the treatment and it looks so good and so natural now. The first few days are really awkward since it resembled a mop and I had icky feeling all over since I was not allowed to wet it for three days (I was a rebel so I showered after thirty-six hours). I actually don't like the lifeless, super straight hair in the shampoo advertisements. I want it straight and fine but with natural body and bounce - and that's how it looks and feels now! I am so deliriously happy about it. I've also been receiving lots and lots of compliments for it. Yay!

I got the salon package that includes keratin, cellophane treatment and a foot spa which is actually price-friendly. Drop me a line in my comment box to know where is my secret happy place! :) One good tip: pray for gorgeous hair. Sounds weird but I seriously do pray whenever I do something with my hair. Its not called crowning glory for nothing. Try it! Very effective and with guaranteed great results!

1. Friends told me that one of my strongest suitS is my INNER STRENGTH. They said that I have this knack to face whatever trouble that comes my way. Yep, in a way it's true. BUT let's just say that facing trouble is one thing but actually surviving from it is another.

2. I lost 3 lbs. in the last four days (I believe that most are water though). Half of it was from the food poisoning that we had when we attended a party and the other half was from a diet I am having that ends all diet. :)

3. There are days when I feel that I am looking through an opening of a black hole. I am in the dark, the outside is in the light, and there are shadows all around us. Whew! I can definitely use a vacation to clear my mind!

4. Ms. Nitz, one of my elder officemates, whom I am close with, gave one of the best advices ever: ENJOY!

5. I'm fascinated by my old pictures. Life is uncomplicated in the olden days. Things are light, goals are easier to reach, it takes very small amount of effort to make people happy, and contentment is within reach.

6. This is such a SARCASTIC week here at the office. People kept on biting each other's head, sending SMS with snide remarks, and just plain bitching around.

7. Recent guilty pleasures: Desperate Housewives, The OC and CANS Nail Spa.

8. Superman Returns is one of the best movies of the year! I watched it with Aileen, Tin, Charo and Jako last Friday at ATC.

9. Everyone has a kryptonite. I definitely know mine. What's yours?

10. I went out with some old officemates from Carrier the other day. I had fun. It's nice to drink, unwind, and hang-out with people outside the office. :)

11. I SO love my new hair! Its been three weeks since the rebond and I've been getting lots of compliments from it. I was in a limbo for quite a while - whether to grow it long as usual or curl it. The tried and tested route won.

12. I made some invitation lay-out for a formal event that my officemates found so nice. The font was the IT about it. I am so good at these things. It could have been my wedding invites though. Yeah, bittering. :)
