The fourth season of Grey's Anatomy will premiere on September 27 at ABC. Here's the first promotional video which I got from Mindy and at the Grey's Anatomy Insider site.
I am such a HUGE fan and I cannot wait for Season 4. There's a couple of 'quite real' exciting spoilers that I read from Mindy's site that are absolute bombshells! (think Alex-Callie hooking up!) This will be a different season since main characters Burke (Isaiah Washington) and Addison (Kate Walsh) will not be on it. Burke, as everyone knows, was fired from the program and Addison will lead a new GA spin-off show called Private Practice. Spin-offs usually don't take-off as much as its mother show but let us see what it can offer. It will premiere on September 26.
Here are some things to look forward to:
1. Lexie Grey - to be played by actress Chyler Leigh; she's Meredith's half-sister who was introduced in the penultimate episode last season as 'the girl from the bar' who turned out to be one of Seattle Grace's new interns. Chyler is definitely prettier than Ellen Pompeo!
2. The New Residents - our five favorite Interns are now Residents! Cristina's "don't try sucking up, I hate you already" in the video clip above was Bailey's line to them in the Pilot Episode when they first started at SGH.
3. O'Mizzie / Gizzie - this is one ship that should be put out ASAP! Tsk, tsk, tsk! Very very low, Shonda!
4. Mer-Der - I heard they are breaking up (again!). More dark and twisty Meredith's drama (again!).
Aside from the premiere, GA fans are also excited for the 10 Emmy nominations that the cast and crew of Grey's was able to rake. I really really hope that they will win it this time. Seriously.

Crush
ONE FUNNY MEME
Got this funny "crush" meme from my niece/goddaughter, Kiara. It's really cute and child-like. It's a welcome change from my emo posts. I just want to acknowledge that there's a *new* guy in my life. Technically he's not yet a "guy in my life" since I don't even know if he know I exist.
I've done a lot mopping and crying in the previous years for my ex and it's very refreshing to actually have someone new in my life. It's about time! This is a start. Horay for me! Whew!
So, please, let me indulge! :)
Is he your age? Hmmm, I dunno. I think either we are of the same age or I am older by a year.
Has he ever talked to you or about you positively? He said "hello" once and there were a lot of times when we greeted each other at the hallway.
Has he given you the "cute look?" Yeah, I think. There were a couple of incidents I can recall when he gave me THE look.
Has he asked for your number? Personally? Nope. But since I am using a Service Unit number, he can easily get it from anyone in the office. I got his from some internal advisory. Haha!
Does he constantly look at you? Constantly? I dunno. But I am sure that he did look once or twice or thrice...
Does he ask you to hug him throughout the day? Whaaat?! I'll get there! I'll get there!
When you walk up does he ignore you? Haven't had the chance (or the reason) to approach him. But, this evening, I was talking to one of our officemates and he went to the area where we were talking to talk to another officemate. He was just a couple of feet away from moi.
Do you often find yourself starting the coversation? No reason to talk to him...YET. Soon, soon. I think we are both involved in one of Marketing's upcoming projects. Saw his name in the e-mail loop of the project brief that was sent recently! Woohoo!
If you answered yes, did the conversation end quickly? I answered NO above.
Do you wish to have a "notebook" romance? Notebook as in The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks? Uhhh, nope. Albeit uber-romantic, "The Notebook" book/movie's leading lady had Alzheimer's. If "notebook" in the sense that it's bloggable and diary-worthy then YES.
Is the guy you like very smart? Well, he's from SMART so he must smart. I've always been a nerdy-guy-magnet so I guess HE HAS TO BE smart or else...
Is he rebellious? I don't think so. He's very dedicated and religious. (I can notice and observe these tidbits as early as now).
Have you ever asked the person you liked out? Nope, nope.
What did he say if he said anything at all? Not applicable...YET.
Has he ever generously complimented you? Nah...! He will once he get to know me!
Are you married to the one you like? Haha! I don't even know if he knows me!
Have you had a good dream about this person? Good question. I dream A LOT. A clear indication of my 'likeness' towards someone lies heavily on the 'dream indicator' factor.
Does he look at you like a friend? I hope NOT.
Does he come to you with advice? He'll probably ask me for loyalty programs and delight projects advice soon.
Has he ever called you? Nope.
Have you ever called him? Nope.
Is he on your MySpace of Friendster? He's not in Friendster or I did not search/look close enough. I rarely open MySpace.
Does he avoid you? I don't think so.
Is he shy? I can see that he doesn't have a shy personality.
Have your parents met him? Not...YET! Hah!
Can he make you laugh? He can make his teammates laugh. They are always on a laugh trip!
Is he bossy? I don't think so. I heard him talking to someone earlier and he seemed courteous.
Has he tried to kiss you? There will be chaos at the 16th floor if he will ever attempt. :)
This is so FUN! Try if you want! I miss the feeling of giddiness! Me having a crush is a national event! Be happy for me! :)

I love rainy weather! I love the big and fat droplets! I love the rain! There is always a certain calm and solitude that weather like this brings me. Even my personal style is more attuned in the cold climate rather in the summer. I have a closet filled with black tops and coats here and there which is just perfect for rainy weather or cold nights.
The downside? Well, the maddening typhoon called 'Egay' left major parts of Metro Manila submerged in floods for days which made traveling and getting to appointments on time uber-hard. I was stuck in traffic for 2 to 3 hours last Thursday and Friday because of it!

Sen. Gil Puyat Ave. Intersection Last Wednesday Morning
Since it was stormy and floody (is there such word?) last week, it prompted schools to be called off for three days and for offices to ask their employees for early dismissals. Ironically, my emotions were also in tune with the weather since I was having post-birthday blues the whole week and was kindda in melancholic and sentimental mode.
Speaking of birthdays, I had plenty of belated birthday well-wishers and even a couple of gifts which I got from the mail. What else but my two uber-gorgeous shoes from Schu which I bought on-line recently! Yay! Aren't they to die for? It's time for me to buy heels and pumps once again after practically living in Havaianas for almost two years. These beauties definitely made me forget a li'l bit of my dramas and emo stuff.

~*oOo*~
Since this is a long weekend (for the commemoration of Ninoy Aquino's death), I was able to rest and watch to my heart's desire all the TV which I can put my hands on. I am re-watching the First Season of Grey's Anatomy in anticipation for the Season Four Premiere on September 27. I can't wait for it! It has always been one of my ultimate guilty pleasures. I found some spoilers in various sites which I will post here soon.
Another show which is keeping me busy this weekend is Greek. I discovered the show while I was blog-hopping at Mindy's site a month ago. It's a story set in a fictional university, Cyprus-Rhodes, which follows the life and loves of two siblings, Casey and Rusty. Casey is the Uni's top sorority's "it" girl while Rusty is her geek Freshman brother who decided to rush into a fraternity. I am only on its 3rd episode and is planning to download via torrents the other episodes this week. Greek is a new dramedy offering from ABC Family which began airing just last July. It's now on its sixth episode. Other shows which I must catch up on are the remaining Season 1 episodes of Brothers and Sisters and Ugly Betty. I hope I would be able to finish them all in time for their respective premieres this Fall.

Here's a blast from the past. I had this entry in November 2004 and it's worth a re-post! Join and enjoy!
First, recommend to me via comment box:
1. A movie
2. A book
3. A musical artist, song, or album
Then ask me three questions, no more, no less.
Ask me anything you want and I will try my best to answer them.
Then go to your blog/journal, copy and paste this same post and allow your friends to ask you anything.
Hit it!

Happy Birthday, Abbie!
This is one of the quietest birthdays I've ever had. I had a lot of things going on last week so I wasn't able to plan anything big with friends and family. I spent most of the day catching up on sleep then I had YM Conference with my dearest Aileen and Tin in the afternoon. My family and I went to mass in the evening and I bought a cake and a bucket of KFC for dinner. I just want it simple. After all, like what I told a friend last night, I feel that I've already received the gifts I wanted for this year. Well, most of it anyway. I have low expectations for today but I must say that I got a couple of surprises that caught me off guard a little bit. God is really listening to me today since I got an answer (almost immediately) to my wish and theme this year of "moving on and leaving the baggage and hurts of the past" as soon as I wrote it here in my blog.

I swear...the numbers are mocking ME!
Here's my yearly tradition of top Birthday Messages received:
Happy Birthday!
~ Mark
(Like last year and the year before that, he was the first person who greeted me. I thanked him and asked if my first birthday greeting was a sign from heaven. We laughed it off, of course.)
Midnight na! Happy Happy Birthday! Wish ko sa'yo? Sana matupad wish mo! Hehe! At sana makita na natin ang mga photos! Hehe! Take Care! *hugs*
~ Tin
(It's in sentimental and milestone moments like this when I miss one of bestest friends, Tin, the most. 08-12-08 a.k.a. The Big Three-Oh will be spent in BJ - I hope!)
Ms. Abbie! Happy Birthday! I know that the best years in your life are yet to come so enjoy each day as it comes. God Bless!
~ Kathy
(She's one of my girls from the office. Her message of 'the best years are yet to come' inspired me a lot. The age twenty-nine can be scary but her message proved that maybe life only just began for me and the best is yet to come! Horay!)
Happy birthday to you... Happy birthday to you... Happy birthday, happy birthday, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU :-) Welcome to the 29 and Still Freaking Single Club :p
~ Aileen
(One of my bestest girlfriends, Aileen, sent me a more inspiring birthday message than this but I prefer this cynical one that she sent via Multiply. I also made fun of her when she turned 29 last April. Cheers to the PACT, girlfriend!)
Hey Abbie. Happy Birthday! As always, wish ko that you find THE ONE na talaga who will take care of you and make you happy. Hope to see you soon. Mwah!
~ Kat
(She's my bestfriend from college who's always straight to the point about my singleness. She's just a building apart from me yet we cannot find the time to see each other. Sad.)
Abbie! I almost missed your birthday! Happy Happy 29th Birthday!!! Isang taon na lang, 30 ka na! Hehehe!
~ Chey
(She's a friend from my dorm in college whowill soon be disowned for pointing the obvious (just kidding, Chey) who never forgets. We coined the term "Aug12, Oct27 and Sept21" back in the dorm days so we wouldn't forget each other's birthdays.
Happy Birthday, Abs. I left you a message on your blog, too. Are you with the girls? Say HI na lang. I will see you soon, ok? Hey, ako na bahala doon sa laptop sleeve. : )
~ Mitzi
(She's one of my dearest and oldest friends who's also part of the gorgeous and popular Forces of Nature. She will be home soon with my laptop sleeve! Thanks, Mitz (and Darwin!) - not only for the gift but for always reading my non-sense writing.)
Happy birthday Abs! It's amazing how much we've learned about life since we met, huh? I wish you HAPPINESS and PEACE which are the best things to have (and love syempre, pero kahit wala yun, basta may PEACE, oks na...)
~ Kelly
(She's one of my Honda gal pals who's now living the ultimate beach life at The Maldives. I met Kelly - and the other Mighty girls - early on my 20s and its amazing how successful we all became since. Cheers to the good ol' Salustiana days!)
Happy Birthday! Stay Beautiful! Pa-toma ka naman!
~ Ryan
(He's a batch higher than me and he's my first-ever highschool crush - a fact unknown to many. He left the message in my Friendster. He's so funny and one of the coolest guy back in highschool. Hmm?)
Aside from the many messages, so many friends called and greeted me via YM, Multiply, e-mail, Friendster, etc. Thanks for all those who remembered! Since birthdays are synonymous to being sentimental, I also sent three well-meaning messages of thanks to Ros, Twiggy and Guds. They are three friends of mine (from different circles) who were truly God's gift to me especially this year. I just recently reconnected and "discovered" them and they truly helped me a lot in some difficulties this year. Aww!

I had a simple dinner celebration with my Goodyear friends - Binch, Ros, Eric, John - last Friday after arriving from Cebu. I went straight to Alabang from the airport. We had a fun night dining at Lasa! (it's a Filipino place where they serve eat-all-you-can) in Festival Mall. Binch and I used to frequent it a lot last year when we were doing our Goodyear Marketing Plan slides and presentations. John also joined us and we were all amused by his stories and work tales all night.
Here are some snaps:

So, this is the penultimate year before the BIG one. I hope and pray that this will be more fruitful, rewarding and happier than the previous years. Let us all wait and see! Come and celebrate the journey!

Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes
Five hundred twenty-five thousand moments so dear
Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes
How do you measure, measure a year?
In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights, in cups of coffee
In inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife.
In five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes
How do you measure a year in the life?
How about love? How about love? How about love?
Measure in Love.
Seasons of Love. Seasons of Love.

Here's the last 525,600 Minutes in pictures

I was planning to write a lengthy post on my adventures of the last 525,600 minutes. But, I guess, I wrote enough about it already and doing another post might be too much. I've been blessed with so many things and I believe that I haven't been thankful enough. Though a lot is not going the way I wanted it to be...I still know that I had a blessed and fruitful 28th year.
Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes!
Five hundred twenty-five thousand journeys to plan.
Journeys. My twenty-eighth year is all about journeys. Journeys to self-discovery, journeys to self-reliance, journeys to great places and journeys to standing up after each fall. I walked, I drove, I rode and I definitely crawled a lot this year.
Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes
How do you measure the life of a woman or a man?
In truths that she learned, or in times that he cried.
In bridges he burned, or the way that she died.
There are so many truths I learned this year. From finally believing that I am not the ONE to accepting that I cannot do all things on my own. I had mixed feelings when I finally said goodbye to two relationships which are not doing anything good to me anymore. The first one was the love relationship which I thought would last forever and the other one was my stay at my last company. Both have bittersweet partings which I learned a lot from.
I also shed a lot of tears this year. My dad was hospitalized late last year and it definitely rocked my family's boat. It was unexpected and painful but it also showed who our real friends are. A lot of support were given to us by friends and family alike which we are very thankful until now. I never blog or write too much about my family, I guess it's one topic which I am not very open to discuss. We are all good and happy and I think that's enough information to give.
It's time now to sing out, tho' the story never ends
Let's celebrate
Remember a year in the life of friends
Remember the love!
A year in the life of friends. I have gazillions of friends! But as I grow older, I learned how to stick to a select group who have been with me through thick and thin on this journey of life. It's nice to celebrate with them every ups and downs that I encountered this year. Horay for friends!
Remember the love!
Seasons of love!
As I move on to the last year of my 20s, I hope that I would be given more blessings to share with my family and friends. The theme for the year to come is moving on and leaving the baggage and hurts of the past. Now that I am out of the rut, I pray and hope for better things to come. I also pray for good health for my family and rich (figuratively and literally) abundance of blessings for my friends. I also wish for a happy heart that would be able to give great love once more!
Thank you Lord for the gift of life! Thank you for the Seasons of Love!

Welcome to Cebu!
I am here at the Lobby Lounge of The Waterfront Hotel in Lahug, Cebu City and is blogging the night away while a pair of acoustic singers are playing soothing ballads and sappy love songs at the Mezzanine Lobby above. It's my first time to stay here at the Waterfront. I usually stay at The Marriott or at the Marco Polo Cebu. There was even an instance when I spent three glorious days at Shangri-La's Mactan Resort & Spa. Nice hotels are truly one of my lurves!
The Waterfront Hotel here in Lahug is so so so huge! There are so many unused spaces especially in the lobby. But despite the big spaces, this is still probably one of the most crowded hotels I've been. It can probably be attributed to the popular Casino Filipino, the Duty Free shops or the myriad of restaurants that suits every palate. Name it and they got it with expatriate Chefs to boot - Japanese, Chinese, Italian, specialty Filipino and a lot others. I would really love to try the Mizu Japanese Restaurant if I have the luxury of time. It's been a while since I last had an authentic Jap. Waterfront is actually a fairly good hotel. It just looks weird with all its castle-like towers and turrets with blinking lights at night. It's still holding up on its own despite the surge of new hotels in the city like Marco Polo and The Hilton. As usual, the hotel and my flight earlier are full of Koreans. They are truly multiplying and propagating in the country by the minute! Waterfront, I noticed, also charges higher than usual hotel rates here in Cebu. In fact, the reason why I am blogging here at the lobby and not in my room is because of the very high WiFi per hour rate in the rooms whereas it's free at the lobby. The weird thing is Smart provides the WiFi connection in the rooms while the other company provides the free one here at the lobby. Well, it goes to show who's the more reliable one, huh? It just feels weird to actually pay for services that my own company is providing thus I am a freeloading at the lobby.

Enough of Waterfront.
I had a fairly nice trip this afternoon. I left the office after giving my girls a long laundry list of things to do. We will be launching one of our Customer Care services this weekend and I am just making sure that everything goes well. : ) Since classes were suspended today due to the recent storm and flood, it was generally a not-so-traffic-not-so-hassle day so I was able to have lunch with Twigs before leaving for the airport.
I took the 3:00 pm PR 849 flight of Philippine Airlines and was truly elated because SMART is everywhere in both the NAIA Terminal 2 and Cebu International airports. It's like a reminder for me that this trip is for work and not for pleasure. I slept almost throughout the flight and was quite pissed with the guy beside me who kept on pulling up and down the shade cover of the window. I am usually an aisle person and am quite peeved at over-excited people in the window seats. Speaking of seats, I was people-watching at the plane before take-off when I suddenly saw myself looking at this certain band's vocalist. He smiled at me and I was surprised because I cannot even remember his name! It was so embarrassing because he thought that I was looking at him on purpose.

It's definitely a SMART Country!

I arrived in Cebu around 4:30 pm and was greeted by friendly cloudy skies. Cebu changed a lot! It's been four years since the last time I was here. There are new buildings, bridges, fly-overs and unfamiliar routes and streets. I immediately checked-in at The Waterfront and checked my work mail before going out. I had dinner at Cheaverz Fried and Grill as planned. It's a fact that Cebu is known for expensive gastronomical delights but despite that it's the el cheapo and simple Cheaverz's grilled foodies and puso which I truly like. I discovered it 2002 when I was with some Honda dealers in an incentive trip. It was a simple off-the-wall nipa hut-stlyed restaurant which serves puso (rice in banana leaves) and grilled chicken, pork and beef. Average meal expense per person is only P65.00! It's quite famous here and is usually the go-to place for tourists (if you are tired of the famous Sutukil and Cebu Lechon). I went to the Cheaverz resto in Capitol (just near the Malacanang of the South) and not to the original one in Mandaue since it's a bit far away.

Cheaverz and the Puso (pronounced as pu-so)
One of the best things about this trip is it would give me the R&R that I need. I was planning to watch The Simpson's Movie at the Ayala Center Cebu this evening but was way off the show time so I just decided to go back to the hotel and rest. I also had a nice chat with my roommate, Marga, who's the Manager of our Wireless Center in Kalibo, who's also here for the meeting. We talked about work, college life and random officemates. It's nice to have a roommate for a change. I’ve always had single rooms in my past business trips with my ex-companies.
Anyway, I better go now and enjoy Cebu and Waterfront. I also need to rest because our presentation tomorrow starts at 10:00 am. Then it's back to the airport again for the flight to Manila at 3:00 pm. I am actually excited to go back home since I'll be seeing Ros, Binchy and Eric in Alabang tomorrow night to start this year’s celebration of August 12!

It's been a while since I last drawn up a wish list for Birthday or Christmas. I was waiting for a ride the other day when I nonchalantly began jotting down some ultimate wants this year (and next). Hope I can get most of them (friends and family, your full attention please!).
Here it goes...
1. Finally forgetting it or finally making it (been singing this tune since early this year, seems like I am gearing more and more towards the former).
2. For a certain someone to finally look up and notice. : )
3. Good health for the rest of the family
4. Making new friends, keeping old friends and reconnecting with lost ones.
5. More, more, more patience (and less biatchiness).
6. The gift of true assertiveness
7. A loving and accepting heart *big gulp*
8. One quiet and peaceful day on my ride to and from work
9. Less whines and brat attacks
10. Samsonite Backpack for my laptop (or a very cool laptop sleeve at least)
11. 1GB Memory Stick Duo for my SE P990i
12. New desktop monitor for my PC at home
13. A second cellphone for my Service Unit
14. Trip to Beijing, China to visit Tin in time for the 2008 Olympics; and to celebrate and welcome the Big Three-Oh there.
15. Trip to Iloilo in January to attend Tisha and Rhett's wedding
16. Roadtrip to Vigan (been planning this for the longest time!)
17. Dorothy Perkins Flare Jeans
18. Shoes from Schu which I ordered on-line to finally arrive
19. A new functional office bag (M Barretto?)
20. One fine day at The Spa
~*oOo*~
I'll be off to the Queen City of the South for work on Thursday afternoon to attend our Visayas Regional Meeting. It's been years since the last time I was in Cebu. Been too looooong if I may say. The trip will be a quick one since I will just be presenting some updates and programs that we will have soon. I'll be there less than 24 hours so I will not have time to meet with friends and stuff. In fact, I only have one must-do in Cebu - eat at Cheavers! Yay!
P.S.
I love the weather lately! I love, love, love the rain! I love the cool rainy nights!

THE FARMER AND I
When I was fresh out of college all I wanted was to be this big-time corporate yuppie who can outwit and give intellectual views and opinions at any given time. Being employed in a big corporation was one of the best places for me then. In there I learned a lot and I gained a lot of friends who are as talented and as competitive as I am. It was the beginning of the fulfillment of my dream.
Then I met you.
I met you unexpectedly and life was never been quite the same. My dream of world domination suddenly went out of the window and the dream of a simple life with you came into being. I will never forget the soulful Tagaytay conversation I had with you years back when we dreamed not of careers and high-flying jobs but of the simple life at the farm.
You were the farmer and I was the writer.
We said that we'll do it in a heartbeat. We'll move far and away to our little farm where you'll be contented with your vegetables and I with my little notebook filled with countless stories and memoirs. That's the simple life we both dreamed then. Who needs technology and money when we have each other in our own simple nest?
But, of course, the farm went away with you.
I am now back at my cube in the high-rise building with other go-getters like me. I am back to the rat-race once more. Back to my original pursuit of conquering the world. I often wonder what became of you. Are you a Farmer now? Do you already have another Writer with you? I am afraid that I don't want to know the answers. But, sometimes, when I am alone at night, I cannot help but dream of the farm and the endless love it promised would give.
Until we meet again.
